What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently and provide information to the website owners. Cookies enhance your browsing experience by allowing websites to remember your preferences and understand how you use their services.
How We Use Cookies
Privé uses cookies and similar technologies for several purposes, including:
- Essential cookies: Required for the operation of our app and website. They enable core functionality such as security and user authentication.
- Analytical/performance cookies: Help us understand how visitors use the site. PostHog can tie events to a signed-in account. Visitors who are not signed in are not given a person profile. These analytics are not anonymous.
- Functionality cookies: Allow us to remember choices you make and provide features such as support chat. The Intercom messenger loads on each visit so you can message support. Intercom R&D Unlimited Company (Ireland) and Intercom, Inc. (United States) set these cookies for that chat. The Privacy Policy describes the name, email, messages, and device and usage data Intercom processes.
- Affiliate cookies: This website does not load an Awin script and does not show a cookie banner. If you reach the shop through an affiliate partner, Awin may set its own cookie so that partner can be credited for an order. We do not set that cookie's lifetime in this website's code, so we do not state one. These cookies are not used to sell your personal data.
AI Shopping Assistant & Data Collection
Cami, Privé's AI shopping assistant, is covered by the Cami Terms of Service and its AI Notice, which explain what Cami is, which kinds of AI providers it may use and what we keep.
Managing Cookies
Most web browsers allow you to manage your cookie preferences. You can set your browser to refuse cookies, or to alert you when cookies are being sent. However, if you disable or refuse cookies, please note that some parts of our app or website may not function properly.
You can generally modify your browser settings to decline cookies if you prefer. This can be done through your browser's settings menu. The procedures for managing cookies vary slightly between different browsers:
- Chrome: Settings, Privacy and Security, Cookies and other site data
- Safari: Preferences, Privacy
- Firefox: Options, Privacy & Security
- Internet Explorer/Edge: Tools, Internet Options, Privacy
Types of Cookies We Use
Session cookies
These are temporary cookies that remain in your browser's cookie file until you leave the website. They enable certain site functionalities like remembering your form inputs when navigating through the app.
Persistent cookies
These remain in your browser's cookie file for a longer period (depending on the lifetime of the specific cookie). They help us recognize returning users and remember your preferences for future visits.
Third-party cookies
Privé also allows certain third parties to place cookies on your device when you use our app or website. PostHog places analytics cookies so we can see which pages and features are used. Intercom places functionality cookies for the support chat. Both load with the page. This website does not show a cookie banner, and it does not ask you to accept cookies before those tools run. You can block or delete cookies in your browser. If you arrived through an affiliate partner, Awin may place a cookie so that partner can be credited for an order. Awin receives an order reference and amounts, not your name or contact details. See the Privacy Policy.
GDPR Compliance & International Data Transfers
Privé is committed to protecting your privacy and complying with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable privacy laws.
How long these cookies last
This website does not set its own lifetime for the PostHog or Intercom cookies below. The figures are the vendor defaults that apply because we have not changed them.
- PostHog. The posthog-js library loaded on this site defaults to a 365-day cookie (its cookie_expiration setting is 365) and stores the identifier in local storage and a cookie. The site does not pass a shorter lifetime. Signed-in users can be tied to events (person_profiles is set to identified_only).
- Intercom. The messenger snippet does not set a custom session length. Intercom's product privacy notice (effective September 10, 2025) says the Messenger cookie Intercom-id lasts 9 months, Intercom-session lasts 1 week, intercom-device-id lasts 9 months, and browser storage named intercom.intercom-state lasts until it is cleared. Intercom's Messenger cookies help article (updated August 10, 2026) says intercom-id is kept in local storage and does not expire, intercom-session defaults to 1 week, and intercom-device-id defaults to 270 days and is extended by 9 months on each successful ping. Those published defaults differ on the visitor id. They are Intercom's figures, not a lifetime we configured.
We do not set a separate cookie that records a consent choice. This site has no consent banner.
Legal basis for processing
We process your personal data under the following legal bases:
- Legitimate interests: We have a legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used, answering support chats, preventing abuse and keeping the service secure. Analytics and the support messenger load when you open a page.
- Contract performance: To provide the services you request.
International data transfers
Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside the European Economic Area (EEA), including the United States, by our hosting, database and AI service providers, which may be located outside your country, under appropriate safeguards such as:
- Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs): Our service providers use EU-approved SCCs for international data transfers.
- Adequacy decisions: Where applicable, we rely on European Commission adequacy decisions.
- Additional safeguards: The transfer safeguards described in the Privacy Policy. This website is served over HTTPS (TLS).
Data security
Pages on withprive.com are served over HTTPS (TLS). That protects data while it is in transit between your browser and the site.
